Great Northern Salmon (GNS) will commence pre-construction ground preparation at its proposed facility in Millinocket, Maine, in mid-September 2024. The site is the future production location for GNS’s first Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) salmon. GNS is collaborating with the site owner, Our Katahdin, on the pre-construction development, and the project has received financial support from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), the Northern Borders Regional Commission (NBRC), Eastern Maine Development Corporation (EMDC), and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
